The Deep Submissive
You all responded so well to my blog series on Submissive Types. After the series finished, I got a well-worded, very comprehensive email from one of my readers, fursissy. Fursissy wanted to let me know that he had read everything I had written, and while he couldn’t squarely put himself into one of those categories, he felt he more fell into a new category he had developed. Now, I never said that my listing was the definitive list of the submissive types, and there’ s probably a lot of overlap and gray areas. So, let me paraphrase what he had to say.
The Deep Submissive
The Deep Submissive is often misunderstood, because they don’t fit neatly into any of the other types, and in fact, may show characteristics of a number of them. They often display the yearnings of a service submissive, the devotion and selflessness of a slave type, but still have the sexual desires of a fetishist. Their defining characteristic is that they have an intense need to please and obey the Mistress they submit to. He doesn’t need to be told what to do but if he is told, he obeys to the T.
Power Exchange
This is what the Deep Submissive loves above all. His fetish is for actions and symbols that display power inequalities and his devotion to his Domme. His response to activities may appear fetishistic, but in reality, it’s not really about the activity itself, but about the expression of power it represents. Wearing a collar, being naked before his clothed Mistress, being forced to dress for her, being kept in chastity all arouse him, not just because of what the Deep Submissive and his Mistress are doing, but because he gives her the power to do this things to him.

MS Delia, it seems that fursissy and i have similar taste, which You paraphrased so well. i confess, i consider it definitely a privilege for You take me into that sub-space of deep submission. You always find so many innovative ways to meet my desires to relinquish total control while expanding the limits of my many fetishes.

It has been an odd journey trying to get to the core of my submission and for years I have seemed to relate to many different sub types without ever finding one that got to the root of it all. When the idea of the deep submissive finally donned on me a couple of weeks ago it gave me a lot of inner peace to finally feel like I understood what was going on. It also made me realize why it’s common for those of us with similar characteristics are often misunderstood, since i’ve never heard anyone acknowledge that this even existed.
Hopefully this will help others to be able to better understand themselves as well.

I would identify this way, and I think that for the deep submissive, everything is ultimately a type of ritual, a testament to the power and glory of the Goddess. I always think of myself as a foot fetishist, and I do really think the female foot is sublimely beautiful, but for me the ultimate sexual arousal I felt around feet was always about kneeling or groveling in front of a female and kissing her feet or shoes as a symbol of my submission to her.
